Live To Impact Not To Impress
/To Impact is to have a strong effect on someone or something, to impress is to make someone feel admiration and respect. Have you ever been in the presence of someone whether they were very popular or well-known, possibly even be a co-worker or family member? They seem to have everything going for themselves and are good at what they are doing. The only downside to this is after being in their presence how they are as a person their attitude and just their overall character does not leave you feeling hopeful or inspired to get started on your dreams. The reality is if your true intentions is not set on helping or uplifting others, their only focus is being busy only impressing the world. This mindset robs them of the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on the people they come across or people that are watching. No one should believe they are above any one and that the top is only for them, in everything there is a time and season that they will flourish. There is an old saying I often heard back home and even now form older family members stated “today for me tomorrow for you” meaning today I could be up and the next day it could be someone else nothing in life lasts forever. Being boastful or arrogant will never take you very far remember the only thing that does last forever is salvation. In life we should all thrive to be remembered for who we are and how we treated others or made a difference in some one’s life, not by the titles or material assets we have.
We only have one life to live and It is certainly up to us to create the memories we would love to be remembered best for. No one is better than anyone we are all capable of living an extraordinary life. The reality is some people want it more than others and some people just need the right support system, a why, a reason, or someone to show them what is possible. So, when we are blessed to be in a position of influence use it to inspire someone else to discover their greatness. We are not blessed to look down our nose at others or to be selfish, true success comes with being generous share information, share your why, and how you got there. People will respect and love you for who you are the love you spread, and the work you put into making a difference. Whatever your purpose is do it with love and passion, do your very best at all times, remember we are servants of God, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving Colossians 3:23-24. Remain humble, grateful and kind money and material things last a while a legacy and salvation go on forever.
