Be Still Blessings Are In The Adventure

Sometimes Less Is More when More Is Too Much

“Less is more and more being less “this is one of those phrases that is a fact but always contradicting to everything that we have been taught. Growing up we are always being told “make sure you go to school and get good grades, so you have get a great job that pays a lot. With being paid a lot you can buy everything you want and need. It has been instilled in us that the goal is to always work hard to have more. more, more, never being content with the fact that we already have everything we need too busy   suffering from the more disease. What is the more disease? is the thought that we must have more to be happy. Our belief system prevents us from being in gratitude for the things we do have and have been blessed with from birth every external asset is just a bonus. The irony to always doing more to receive more is that when you get there you are never fully satisfied and the chase continues, and as a result you miss the opportunity to live and enjoy the fruits of your labor.  Always missing the opportunity to be present to gaining knowledge daily to grow.

I would like to share with everyone the power of being present in our daily experiences and how quickly we can miss the blessings in disguise.  Over the weekend a god friend of mine planned on attending a very powerful event held in New York City called sisters circle, we were traveling on the bus to get there. Our bus time for departure was for 7:40 a.m., I am always a very anal when it comes to time being late is one of my pet peeves. I arrived at the bus station at 7:35 our bus arrived exactly at 7:40 but I was unable to get on because my friend was stuck in traffic in her Uber.  So, I started to get a little worried that we were not going to make it and if we would have to purchase different tickets.  A second bus arrived shortly after  I was still not able to catch that one  because my friend was  still two minutes away  so at this point my anxiety has kicked and I started to think this day of adventure was not going to happen.

Here is where the irony comes in my friend arrives and as we are standing waiting for the next bus we met a girl named Katherin, she lives in Florida she took a trip to Philadelphia by herself and was catching the bus to New York for the weekend.  We were informed that her birthday would be Sunday and this is a thing she created for herself, to travel to different countries and states by herself to meet new people, learn new culture and just explore every year for her birthday.  This excited me so much as she continued to share that I handed her one of my cards and asked could we connect on social media because I was so interested in seeing her adventures.  I shared with her that I am a writer and I have a blog, in return she shared that she has an interest in writing a book to share her story with the world which I encouraged her to get started on.  Katherin bus arrives shortly after we were not able to get on we had to wait for the next one, only this time I was not upset because I was so grateful for that 30-minute connection that inspired me on another level.  I thought to myself if we did not miss those two buses I would have missed that blessing that light of inspiration early in the morning. I shared this to say sometimes we just must slow down, take a deep breath, relax, and trust that every disappointment is for a greater purpose, and if we are not careful we will miss it.  It is okay if things do not go as planned life is full of adventures meant to be explored I encourage everyone that when you are faced with adversity is to buckle up and get excited for a new adventure.
