Outliving Our Circumstances

When I was eleven years old, I migrated from Jamaica where I was born and raised to the united states of America where life as I knew it was over and new life began.  I had to adapt and adjust to what was to become the new normal, now today as an adult I think about how as a child we naturally can be flexible when it is necessary. We are disciplined for a few reasons one being we may not have had a choice or any control and secondly trusted our parents about what was best for us. Today my question to myself and everyone is, today as you are why are we afraid to adapt and adjust to do what is best for us? We all have dreams that we allow to sit on the side line every time life is happening instead of analyzing the things that are out of our control, focus on what is working for us to   adapt and adjust to make it happen.  Why are we so quick to complain and claim defeat before taking a second to think and retreat with forward planning? simply taking the lesson out of the adversity and being flexible to keep going with a new plan and focus.

We are now adults that are responsible for creating the life we desire and taking the necessary actions to see our dreams come to life, it is our job to decide on what is best for us and no matter how difficult the shift is being flexible to the change. The truth is our purpose is something that is within us it is not something we have to search to find, our purpose is something we must discover within ourselves. Therefore, the experiences and challenges we face does not have the power to change   your dreams or kill your vision, we are in control of our vision not our circumstances.   We must be willing and able to not allow outside forces to influence or allow us to settle for less or mediocre results because it is a less challenging choice. “Anything worth having is worth fighting, and nothing good ever came easy”, the thing that we must make sure is clear when we begin our journeys is our why. The why is what is going to continue to motivate us to work for it, the bigger the why the bigger the drive to push forward no matter what, secondly being aware of the cost of not achieving this goal.

I Am Not A Product Of My Circumstances,
I Am A Product Of My Decisions.

The issue for a lot of us is we spend so much time focusing on all the life circumstances that can limit or stop us from ever getting started, the reality is they can only stop us if we allow it. “where there is a will, there is away “invest time in researching and getting the proper knowledge and resources you need to get started.  The first step is to be clear on who you truly are and making sure that your purpose is you and not just a grand fantasy because chasing the wrong thing or the thing that everyone else sees for your life will always lead you to a dead end leaving you leaving feeling lost and unfulfilled. To be good at something does not mean that it is your purpose because, true success comes with a level of fulfillment and peace that money cannot buy. Doing something simply because you love it without instant gratification or rewards, your rewards is in seeing your purpose bless someone else’s life not only yours when seeing other people win is important to you.  Today I am encouraging each and everyone reading this is to outlive your circumstances   be flexible with adversities to adapt and adjust to remain focused on the vision. Your past does not determine your future, and your present circumstances is not your destination and is not meant to break us. use your moments of despair and frustration as ammunition to stay focused and apply pressure, remember to give birth to anything labor must come first.
