Crunch Time

Start Where You Are. Use What You Have.Do What You Can

I am the type of person that the moment I say I want to get something done I have to do it in the same moment the thought is present because, if I don’t act in the moment I have given myself too much procrastination time. Meaning I gave myself too much time to come up with my own reasoning as to why I can wait or reschedule for another time. I recently learned something called the first five second rule it is said that after planning we have five seconds to act on it before our mind begins to rethink or procrastination kicks in.  How many of you guys often catch yourself doing that? I have gotten a lot better with this over the last few years, but I am still a working progress and every so often I fail at beating my mind. Something that I have taken on is planning not just any planning but planning effectively, in my planner I plan everything precisely down to the hour, the minute, and the second. By doing this I have no time to ponder or procrastinate because I have programmed my mind to focus and remain in crunch time, this means if too much time is wasted it is like a domino effect it can throw off my whole schedule. We must put ourselves on a strict procrastination and distraction diet, when it is work time it is work time when it is time to relax we are focused on doing just that. It generally helps me to stay organized and on track with my goals and things I want to accomplish within a certain time frame. This is very beneficial and a very important step to take on prioritizing your time daily especially when you work for yourself. Simply because it’s much easier to procrastinate because you are not so worried about getting fired our getting in trouble with your employer.  Remember your dreams will not work or create themselves we must put in the work.

A lot of the time this can hurt us in the long run in life, and in your business a lack of planning and self-discipline to stay on track can lead to a chaotic life and failure in business. How you show up in one area of your life is how you show up in all areas of your life. The goal is to set your schedule as the boss and then put on the employee hat and get to work. Practice makes progress and this is one of those tasks that requires a lot of practice and self-discipline. In life you have those people that this is second nature for them and you have those that need someone to hold them accountable or remind them of what to do and when to do it. That too is okay this does not mean you are less than a person that can, it just simply means we need to work harder on our personal growth and committing to the things we say we want. You want to be a boss you must think like one and act like one too, you want to be a punctual person in life we must plan effectively and strive to follow through.  Understand that some days you just won’t get it all done but try to set up a priority list even if it means only getting the little things done that takes you one step closer to a big goal. I challenge everyone to take on being specific with your time, your goals, and putting in the required amount of work to get it done leave no room for procrastination. Whether that’s giving yourself a daily, weekly, monthly, or a 90-day goal remember that even when planning for things to go well prepare for life events to take place and when it does do not get frustrated or discouraged acknowledge it and keep going the day is not over. FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS, and REMAIN ON CRUNCH TIME! Ultimately God has the final say it is important to commit your plans unto him and follow his lead
