Have you paid close attention to the weight of the baggage that we carry and the things that we hold on to as the years go on, and how we begin to feel like we are walking around with in the middle of summer with a turtle neck sweater on? We begin to feel heavy, anxious, and almost feeling like we are losing air. Imagine yourself for a minute wearing a turtle neck in the middle in the summer, of course this would not even be an option or fashion choice for a hot summer day. I say that to ask why we continue to walk around fully clothed but dressed for the wrong weather and season by continuing to allow our past to be in control allowing all our mistakes to determine our future and define who you are. We were all born with a sealed faith and a journey already laid out for us and if we believe that we must believe that everything we experience is a part of the plan, which means you already have the solution within. For every climate and environment, it requires a change or some type of adjustment in order to be able to thrive and continue to move forward, but the choice to resist and refusing to remove the extra layers it becomes impossible to function fully and effectively.
The reality of today’s climate is the more broken a person is the more they cover them selves in with the idea that no one can see the scars covered underneath their expensive clothes, nice cars, house, or even great make up. The more layers you apply the more evident is becomes that you have something to hide and the only person suffering, and suffocating is you because the first step to healing is building the courage to be transparent. If we are not allowing ourselves to be a victim to our experiences and feel free to not hide behind them in fear that is when transparency wins. The moment we are free to share we give ourselves permission to heal and there is nothing no one can say to hurt you or control how you move in life. The benefits of finding the beauty in your journey is people will learn to love and respect you not because of what you have but because of your courage to share openly and live in your truth. The thought that you can only be acknowledged or loved because of the degree you hold or how much money sits in your bank account is a fantasy, you are more likely to be used for what you advertise and not loved or respected.
I shared this today to say everyone will not be able to connect with the white picket fence and blue-sky stories, most people will connect when they can listen to your story and be able to find comfort to see that they are not the only one. The reality is if we took on the challenge of transparency more than we run from it you will learn just how much more you have in common with strangers than we realize but if we do not open our mouths, we miss the opportunity of not only healing ourselves but healing and comforting another in need of healing. Today I am encouraging everyone that feels like they are in a space where everything as we know it is changing and the feeling of confusion is present begin to strip down. Remove all the layers that covers the truth the things that we may not have asked for but what was assigned to our lives for great purpose. Now is the time to allow yourself to be open to the beautiful possibilities of transitioning into new grounds for our lives and be ready to strip down and remove old garments that no longer are needed in this season of our lives. “I’ve got this crazy dream about stripping down to truth and bone” – Heather Nova
